Governor line-item vetoes Mayo Civic Center expansion

In a letter to legislators, Governor Pawlenty outlined the projects he removed from the state’s bonding bill through his line-item veto authority. All civic center projects, including the Mayo Civic Center expansion, were removed from the bill. The governor’s line-item vetoes total $319 million in projects.

Rochester legislator points to bonding bill for job creation

Over the weekend, Rep. Kim Norton (DFL-Rochester) penned an opinion piece in the Rochester Post-Bulletin to voice her support of a substantial bonding bill to put Minnesotans back to work. Norton cited the Mayo Civic Center expansion as one of the projects that would have the greatest impact in southeast Minnesota.
